1999, by Stephen Gottlieb - based on models built in Rome around 1700. The instrument has a back of 17 rosewood ribs and a veneered ebony neck with 9 gut frets. The length of the ordinary strings is 73 cm, that of the bass strings 155 cm.
13-course Baroque lute 1987, by Thomas Neitzert a copy of Leopold Widhalm's Baroque lute from Nürnberg (Nuremberg), 1775. The original instrument is today found in the Nürnberg Germanisches Nationalmuseum. This copy has a rosewood back with 11 ribs. The length of the ordinary strings is 72 cm, that of the bass strings 99 cm.
